The Agribusiness Study Program at Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) conducted a community service program in Tamaona Village, Gowa Regency, by donating durian seedlings to local farmers. This activity aims to make a tangible contribution to improving the welfare of the community through the development of the durian commodity sector. The event was attended by lecturers and students from the Agribusiness Study Program at UNHAS, as well as local government officials and residents of Tamaona Village.
In this program, the Agribusiness Study Program at UNHAS fostered collaboration between lecturers, alumni, and students in donating Musang King durian seedlings to farmers in Tamaona Village. The donated durian seedlings were selected based on high-quality criteria and had good production potential.
“We hope that Tamaona Village can become a foster village for the Agribusiness Program, which, InsyaAllah, will be followed up. May this program mark the beginning of our cooperation,” said Prof. Nixia, Head of the Agribusiness Study Program at UNHAS.
A prominent figure in Tamaona Village also expressed appreciation for the donation of durian seedlings and collaboration with the Agribusiness Study Program at UNHAS. “We hope that this donation of seedlings will bring blessings to Tamaona Village. We sincerely hope for the sustainability of this cooperation because our farmers greatly need guidance and knowledge from the Agribusiness Program at Hasanuddin University, which can be combined with the knowledge of our local farmers.”
