Faculty of Agriculture was established on August 17, 1962 which is the 7th faculty at Hasanuddin University with 3 (three) majors, namely: Agriculture Company Department, Agricultural Engineering Department, and Agricultural Extension Department
In 1988, the department registered with the Directorate of Higher Education (Dikti) was adjusted so that the Department of Agricultural and Agricultural Extension was merged into the Department of Agricultural Economics.
At first the Agribusiness Study Programs / Programs had 4 (four) study programs, namely: Agrosystem Management, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural extension, and Family Welfare Science.
Furthermore, in 1994, the study program at the Agricultural Socio-Economic Department changed its name from the Agricultural Socio-Economic Study Program to the Agricultural Socio-Economic / Agribusiness Study Program.
